The Role
The Marketing & Communications Director will be responsible for effectively directing and executing the marketing and communications strategy for Business for Good and our portfolio of businesses and initiatives, focusing on opportunities for growth. The qualified candidate will work cross-functionally, serving as a key brand ambassador internally and externally, driving excitement across all marcomms platforms, expertly managing the varying nuances across a multitude of audiences, industries, and cultures, and turning followers into fans. Ensure that all marketing operations are consistent and efficient is imperative.

The Marketing & Communications Director has extensive knowledge and experience in brand strategy, media and audience communications, marketing planning and execution, story and content development, data measurement and analysis, and cross-platform media.

The role reports directly to the Chief Brand Officer and will be a key player of our expanding team. This is an exciting role with high potential for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the BFG Chief Brand Officer’s right hand, overseeing marketing and communications strategy, planning and execution of Business for Good and its portfolio of brands and businesses across a variety of industries (retail, dining/food, destinations, real estate, entertainment, agriculture, law, lifestyle, animal causes, and more)
  • Develop messaging and communications strategies for internal and external audiences
  • Analyze, optimize and track performance marketing performance metrics
  • Oversee marketing P&L’s
  • Manage the consistent and on-brand look, tone and feel of all our businesses and initiatives
  • Ideate and develop exciting and compelling brand stories across all marketing platforms and mediums that drive engagement and increase followers throughout all channels, including BFG key social causes: food insecurity, housing instability and education inequity
  • Develop community activations and events, driving support for BFG-supported charities, fundraising, advocacy and awareness campaigns
  • Oversee and direct extensive calendar of campaigns and events, planning for short and long-term success
  • Collaborate with teams/agencies to support, promote and secure media exposure locally and regionally through meaningful messaging and story angles
  • Influence communications prioritization, sequencing, and message alignment across the businesses
  • Crisis management and preemptive planning, maintaining awareness of company risks and threats
  • Manage media relations, including responding to all inquiries via press mailbox
  • Help shape the social media strategy and ensure alignment and seamless integration with BFG’s overarching marketing strategies and plans; working knowledge of platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, and others
  • Direct and maintain BFG’s marketing playbook consisting of best practices, processes, account management guidelines, and FAQs, for internal use and external partners
  • Ensure quality control of all information released
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 12-15+ years of marcomms experience supporting senior executives. Experience leading a brand a plus
  • Both brand (in-house) and agency experience a plus
  • Ability to build working relationships across teams
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to provide communications counsel across the businesses
  • Excellent writing skills including corporate communications, consumer content, thought-leadership blog posts, video content, presentations, and messaging for media/analyst engagements.
  • Ability to lead and deliver concurrent projects and be flexible in the approach
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

The Role
The Project Manager, Marketing will be responsible for planning and overseeing marketing and communications campaigns for Business for Good and our family of companies, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and on budget, and adhere to the highest standards of quality. This role requires superior supervisory skills, with the ability to identify tasks required to complete a deliverable, and delegating them to the appropriate team members.

The Project Manager, Marketing will plan and manage projects related to marketing and communications, and will be responsible for bringing them over the finish line. Duties include creating and managing project timelines and calendars, collaborating with staff across the organization, removing roadblocks to ensure projects are moving forward, managing budgets, and scheduling follow up meetings with internal and external teams. The Manager will also provide direct support to the Chief Brand Officer.

The role reports directly to the Chief Brand Officer and Director of Marketing and Communications, and will be a key player of our expanding team. This is an exciting role with high potential for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for keeping the marketing team on track for all projects and campaigns across Business for Good and our entire family of companies
  • Create and manage timelines and project calendars, with attention to milestones and goals
  • Schedule and monitor marketing projects and campaigns against a defined timeframe and budget, alerting stakeholders when challenges arise
  • Develop and maintain a healthy working relationship with internal teams and external partners to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow
  • When serving as the first point of contact for the Chief Brand Officer for assigned projects, provide excellent customer service with a sunny and social disposition
  • Ensure that all deliverables are carried out as smoothly as possible and are delivered on time without negatively impacting quality
  • Create and maintain project files and folders via our asset management system and collaborative digital platforms
  • Be the eyes and ears for brand best practices and standards
  • Lead research projects to provide necessary and compelling information and insights for storytelling
  • Prepare detailed and thorough timelines for projects, ensuring they are effective and within budget
  • Be a central resource for the marketing team, connecting the dots and filling in the gaps to keep communication flowing
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree
  • 5-7 years of project management experience; agency experience a plus
  • Project management experience across digital, print, events, and social media
  • Management of projects of all scale and complexity
  • Experience assembling and managing estimates to ensure deliverables are on budget
  • Strong team player, who is action-oriented and operates with a sense of urgency to complete projects
  • Ability to build working relationships across teams
  • Help champion improvement to processes and project management best practices
  • Proficient in project management applications; Mac experience preferred. Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
