The Role
The Senior Manager/Director, Social Media & Content will be responsible for leading and executing the social media marketing and content strategy for the Business for Good foundation and our portfolio of Owned, Accelerated and Assisted businesses and initiatives. The qualified candidate will drive excitement across all social channels, understanding the varying nuances across a multitude of audiences, industries, and cultures, and turning followers into fans. Our model of venture philanthropy is unique, bold and exciting — our social voice will thoughtfully embrace these qualities as well.

The Senior Manager/Director has extensive knowledge and experience in brand management, marketing, content, copywriting, data measurement and analysis, and cross platform media. 

The role reports directly to the Chief Brand Officer and will be a key player of our team. This is an exciting role with high potential for growth.


  • Manage social media accounts of Business for Good and its portfolio of brands and businesses across a variety of industries (retail, dining/food, destinations, real estate, entertainment, agriculture, law, lifestyle, pets, and more)
  • Know the ins-and-outs of Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, and other social platforms
  • Develop a unique and consistent social voice for each business and brand in the portfolio
  • Day-to-day social media management, including calendar management and scheduling, adherence to brand pillars, copywriting and editing, monitoring feed activity, content curation, etc.
  • Deliver award-worthy brand stories and social campaigns that drive engagement and increase followers throughout all channels
  • Create online/virtual philanthropic activities and events, driving support for BFG-supported charities, fundraising, advocacy and awareness campaigns, and impact giving initiatives
  • Manage content strategy and asset development (i.e. videos, graphics, infographics, data visualization, sonic branding, and more)  
  • Create compelling and scroll-stopping content to highlight BFG key social causes, including food insecurity, housing instability and education inequity
  • Help shape the social media strategy and ensure alignment and seamless integration with BFG’s overarching marketing strategies and plans
  • Speak to the communities and showcase the neighborhoods where our businesses, programs and initiatives currently exist and will thrive in the future
  • Keep up with latest technology trends and emerging social channels and products, presenting opportunities for growth
  • Monitor comments across all social channels; ensure responses are posted in a timely manner, escalating and/or removing inappropriate or offensive comments
  • Manage and optimize paid social media
  • Manage all content deliverables, providers and partners 
  • Monitor performance and measure impact of our social media presence, presenting comprehensive reports including data analysis, ROI results, competitive landscape, insights, measurement insights and optimization recommendations
  • Create and update social media playbook consisting of best practices, processes, account management guidelines, and FAQs, for internal use and external partners  
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in marketing, and a minimum of five years in social media marketing
  • Both brand (in-house) and agency experience a plus
  • Superior brand voice development and copywriting skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience providing a sound and strategic POV and collaborating across all levels and functions of an organization
  • A big plus: working knowledge and/or a willingness to learn a variety of measurement, management and creative programs and tools are a plus, including (but not limited to) Sprout Social, Google Analytics, Photoshop, Canva, video editing, etc.

Job type:   Full-time
Work Location:   Saratoga Springs, NY.
Work Remotely:   Flexible—combination of work-from-anywhere and in-office hours/days as needed for team collaboration, on-site events, etc.
Salary:   Competitive compensation package
